Toronto citizens have been pretty apathetic about their city hosting the Pan Am Games over the last week, but a new announcement could get people a little more interested. Kanye West has been announced as the headliner of the closing ceremonies, which will also host performances from Pitbull and Serena Ryder.
Live Nation will be organizing the event, with the company being named as the Official Live Music Partner of the games.
“The Closing Ceremony is a time for us to celebrate the thrilling achievements of the exceptional athletes we’re seeing compete here in Toronto. It’s also a great opportunity for this city to have some fun,” says Saäd Rafi, CEO of the Pan Am Games committee. “Live Nation brings its unrivalled knowledge of and experience in supporting major high-profile international events to the TORONTO 2015 Games. We knew they would make our Closing Ceremony a must-see live event and something to remember for our athletes.”
West will likely perform a condensed version of his regular set, as the event will be televised.
