While it may at first appear as a simple stylistic choice, Jhene Aiko's floating performance in her new video gradually unveils a more personal theme to the visual. As she raises to the sky, we see a car accident going on below her, re-enacting a collision that left her hospitalized in 2013. From there, there we see interspersed footage of her brother, Miyagi, who passed away from Cancer in 2012.
The concept works with the title, "Eternal Sunshine," a reference to the Charlie Kaufman and Michel Gondry which dealt with the importance of memories -- whether good or bad. Souled Out is available now through Def Jam.
