Language barrier be damned, Chinese foursome Higher Brothers has been making some North American waves, having linked up with rappers like Ski Mask The Slump God and Famous Dex. The sheer energy the group brings to the table is magnetic in and of itself, and while it might be difficult to really feel invested in their music, it remains an interesting glimpse into another culture's take on hip-hop. Plus, their videos are fire.
Today, the group dropped off their new EP Journey To The West, which features a pair of joints with Ski Mask The Slump God. While the first, "Flo Rida" has been out for a minute, "Rich Bitch" is new territory. As per usual, The Slump God holds it down with a crazy flow and some geek-friendly references, while the Higher Brothers come through and do their thing. Overall, it's a solid party track, and worth listening to if you're interested in non-American hip-hop.
