The Rock's got us ready for Hobbs & Shaw.
We've been hearing about the upcoming Fast & The Furious spinoff for some time now, ever since Dwayne Johnson announced that it's really happening earlier in the year. Hobbs & Shaw will star Dwayne alongside Jason Statham who team up as an unlikely duo to handle some serious business.
“You are going to f‑‑king love this movie," Dwayne told Entertainment Weekly when discussing just how amazing he predicts it will be. “There’s going to be some big, ‘Oh, holy shit, I did not see that coming’ moments.”
As of right now, the crew are wrapping up their scenes in London where they've been filming for about eight weeks. Dwayne joined the F&F franchise in the fifth installment and ever since then, he knew a spin-off was meant to be.
"We started talking about the potential of a spin-off really after Fast Five. And then when Fast 6 came around, that’s when we started having real talks about it, but then the challenge was just finding out what the creative could be and how we cracked that," he told the publication. "I’m really happy that we were not only be able to crack the creative and really lean into the relationship and chemistry — the biting chemistry between myself and Jason Statham — but I think that also you find out that it’s something the fans have been wanting for some time now."
The film hits theatres August 2nd, 2019.
