DJ Khaled's latest effort brings forth an impressive cast, but in the end, we're left longing for the days of "We Takin' Over."

DJ Khaled has returned with the lead single of his upcoming Father Of Asahd, enlisting the talents of Quavo, Chance The Rapper, and Bugatti Biebs. Despite the supporting cast's overall pedigree, "No Brainer" fails to traverse any sort of new ground, thus resulting in a harmless and equally unmemorable bopper.

It's hard to fully commit to critiquing the latest anthem from DJ Khaled, given the mogul's generally affable nature. Yet there's something truly egregious about hearing Quavo used in such a blatant cookie-cooker pop style; after all, this man came up dropping some of Atlanta's hardest mixtapes. Now he's brought the "mama" ad-lib to commercial radio. Perhaps it's a sign of expanding real estate. Yet one has to wonder where the line in the sand gets drawn.

Given the harmless, G-rated sheen of previous single "I'm The One," we probably should have expected something along these lines. After all, Khaled's recent bread and butter has been quarterbacking radio hits, and a tiger don't change his stripes. Yet "No Brainer" feels like recycled territory, paling in comparison to each contributor's solo body of work. Is this the one? Admittedly, only time will tell, and it could very well prove viable for commercial radio. For now, however, it feels as if Khaled's Father Of Asahd lead single is merely going through the motions.

Remember when Khaled was promoting albums with "We Takin' Over?" Simpler times.

Quotable Lyrics

She ch-ch-ch-ch-choosin' the squad
She tryna choose between me, Justin, Qua' and Asahd
She told me that she love that I make music for God
I told her I would love to see that pussy applaud
