A long time coming.

What a time to be Dave Chappelle. After winning first Emmy last year for his hosting spot on Saturday Night Live, Chappelle can now add his first-ever Grammy to the trophy case.

Nominated for Best Comedy Album for his two Netflix specials Heart of Texas and The Age of Spin, Dave beat out peers that included Jerry Seinfeld, Sarah Silverman, Kevin Hart, and Jim Gaffigan.

"I am honored to win an award, finally. And I wanted to thank everybody at Netflix, everyone at Saturday Night Live and everyone from Chappelle Show," he began in his speech. He kept it fairly short and sweet, pausing briefly to conclude with "See you on Monday," before walking away.

Prior to his win, Dave acted as the presenter who announced Kendrick Lamar's win for Rap Album Of The Year, topping Jay-Z's 4:44, Migos' Culture, Rapsody's Laila's Wisdom and Tyler, The Creator's Flower Boy with his DAMN. outing.

Before presenting Lamar, though, Dave took time to acknowledge Hip-Hop, even shouting out members of A Tribe Called Quest, including affiliates Busta Rhymes and Consequence before paying tribute to the late Phife Dawg. Last year, Q-Tip notably called out the Recording Academy for snubbing the group in the rap album category for their final effort as a unit We Got It From Here... Thank you 4 Your Service.
