JETlanta.

In January, Curren$y released his JETLANTA project, where he and CornerBoy P & T.Y. recorded a full project in Atlanta primarily with the city's own Don Cannon. His newest release, The Motivational Speech, brings him together with some more important Atlanta figures. Lex Luger, who can easily be called one of the most influential producers of the last decade, provides the instrumentals throughout, and on closing track "The Field," ATL's OJ Da Juiceman makes a guest appearance. Closely affiliated with Gucci Mane in the lat 00s, OJ has some serious cred in the trap world, not to mention one of its most iconic ad-libs. On "The Field," he and Curren$y are a surprisingly effective combination. Spitta is at his most confrontational on the hook, matching the energy of Luger's driving synth concoctions. When OJ shows up, he sounds as invigorated as ever.

Always one to keep busy, Curren$y has announced four more collaborative projects to be released later this year. These include joint tapes with Don Cannon (Smokey Robinson 2: Smokey’s Revenge), Freddie Gibbs (Fetti), Harry Fraud (The Marina EP) and Big K.R.I.T. (Lacs n Chevys).

In 2015, we profiled Curren$y and spoke to him about his collaborative process, including #2009, his joint project with Wiz Khalifa. “We did half of it together, and the other half, we were laying it down [from a distance], and we were both like I would rather just…fuck that shit, I don’t wanna do it like that. He was sending me verses, I was sending him verses, we could do it that but we’d rather just wait,” he said, noting that he favored the old-school approach of being in the studio with whoever he's working with.

You can listen to Curren$y and Lex Luger's full new project The Motivational Speech here. The project follows his 2017 releases The Jetlanta EPJetlife All-StarsThe Fo20 Massacre, and The Champagne Files.

Quotable Lyrics:
Getting to them money stacks
Must be more careful than that
Must want a knife in your back
N---as is snakes and rats
Bitches is alley cats
All about that scratch
