Busta Rhymes, Rah Digga, Rampage, Spliff Star, Baby Sham and Lord Have Mercy occupy a sizeable branch on the greater hip-hop family tree. Those unfamiliar with the name Flipmode Squad are likely new to the game, and as such, can be forgiven. If, perchance, you're only familiar with Busta Rhymes through 50 Cent's various Instagram antics, rest assured that there is homework to be done. The musical roots run deep, and as of today, they are about to get deeper.
"SALUTE THE 1ST LADY OF THE FLIPMODE FAMILY @therealrahdigga," writes Busta, shouting out Dirty Harriett via Twitter. "NEW FLIPMODE SQUAD ALBUM SOON COME!!!" The project is somewhat surprising, though we might have speculated movements were afoot, upon receiving "Flipmode Squad Meets The Conglomerate," a modern-day posse cut for the ages.
The project has yet to land a release date, but as of today, the cat is officially out of the bag. Ya'll looking forward to some new Flipmode?
