"Black Panther" is still in select theaters.

Black Panther continues to impress the world and break records. Although the film hit theaters in February, Marvel still has the African King dominating select theaters. According to Deadline, Black Panther should cross the $700 million mark at the domestic box office before it leaves theaters. It would be the third film ever to reach that mark domestically. The other two are Avatar and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Black Panther has raked in more domestically that even Avengers: Infinity War, although the latter surpassed the Wakandan King overseas. Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther are the two highest grossing movies of the year, respectively. The future of the Black Panther series has yet to be revealed, but using the comic books for reference leads me to believe that he will play a large role going forward. Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Doctor Strange are three very central heroes in the comics, and it wouldn't be a surprise if they replaced Captain America, Thor, and Tony Stark as the main trio in the group. In both trios, you have one Captain, one wealthy hero with an amazing suit, and one hero with powers that come from another reality. Avengers 4 hits theaters in April 2019.
