Celtics appear willing to trade Tatum as part of Davis deal.

While the Los Angeles Lakers wait for a counter offer from the New Orleans Pelicans, the Boston Celtics have "extensively" discussed adding Jayson Tatum as a part of their potential package for All Star center Anthony Davis, according to The Athletic's Sam Amick.

The Celtics can't make a deal for Davis until July 1, due to the "Rose Rule," but if he's still on the Pelicans' roster after Thursday's 3pm trade deadline, Tatum will be "a major part" of any trade talks that the two teams discuss moving forward, according to Amick

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Pelicans "have been made aware of an extended list of teams" that Davis would be interested in signing a contract extension with, and the Celtics weren't among his desired locations.

Davis' father even told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne, “I would never want my son to play for Boston after what they done to Isaiah Thomas. No loyalty. Guy gives his heart and soul and they traded him. This is just my opinion, not Anthony’s.”

The Los Angeles Times' Broderick Turner reported Tuesday that the Los Angeles Lakers have "pulled out" of trade negotiations with New Orleans amid "outrageous" trade requests. Of course, the Lakers remain interested in Anthony Davis but they no longer want to bid against themselves, according to Wojnarowski.

The Lakers' most recent deal reportedly included all five of their young core: Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Josh Hart and Iviva Zubac, as well as Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and two first round draft picks.

Davis deemed the deal worthy of a double tap on instagram, but apparently it wasn't enough for the Pels.
