Like many artists before him, Pharrell has often cited A Tribe Called Quest as a big influence on his music. Thus he was honored to remix one of the group's most classic tracks, 1990's "Bonita Applebum," for the upcoming 25th anniversary reissue of their debut album, People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm.
Pharrell adds some glossy synths to the single, giving it the feel of some of his early-to-mid-00s work (think Jay Z's "Allure"). The reissue will also features reworks by Cee-Lo Green and J. Cole, and is due out November 13th. Will you be grabbing a copy?
