Always having dabbled in a lo-fi, distorted sound typical with most SoundCloud rappers from Florida, Ski Mask the Slump God drops off more of the same choppy goodness with the introductory track on his new EP. While it was clear that he was working on a new shorter-length project, Ski Mask surprised nearly everybody by unexpectedly dropping. Asking all producers to send him the most experimental beats they had, this project is clearly different from the norm, which you'll realize with the first song. Synths blare over a very prominent 808 with bass booming through your sound system.
While he has still not even acknowledged the EP on his social media platforms, it is unclear if the songs are new or if they are from deep in the vault. Regardless, with songs like "Giggle," it's clear that his producers came through with some out-of-the-ordinary instrumentals. Starting out the 4-song collection with high energy, "Giggle" features plenty of Ski's notable ad-libs with "Water" being thrown around and a whole lot of laughs. Billed as Get Dough Presents Ski Mask the Slump God, the work came from out of nowhere and, while his supporters are delighted to hear new music, it may not necessarily save him from the unfortunate fan backlash after Beware The Book of Eli.
