Talib Kweli participated in a discussion of Rick Ross' controversial "U.O.E.N.O." lyrics yesterday, calling the MMG rapper "misguided", and his apology "unacceptable".

Rick Ross' line from "U.O.E.N.O." continues to cause controversy. Despite Ross addressing the subject last week, and labeling it "a misunderstanding", many are still unimpressed with his lack of a proper apology, and the discussion continues to grow around hip hop lyrics in general. Talib Kweli is the latest individual to weigh in on the matter, voicing his opinion on Ross' line in a Huffington Post live discussion yesterday.

The Black Star rapper spoke with host Marc Lamont Hill, and was joined by Ebony editor Jamilah Lemieux, Washington Post columnist Rahiel Tesfamariam and activist Rosa Clemente. He voiced his disapproval for Ross' choice of words, declaring, "I don't care if Rick Ross is 40 years old—he's a misguided 40-year-old person."

Kweli continued with the argument that some rappers are unaware of the influence they have, and are not deliberately trying to cause harm, but are simply misguided. He was also unhappy with Ross' defense of the line. "Rick Ross condoned rape in that song ... and he should apologize, and his apology that he offered was unacceptable," he said.
