Women viewership has been on a steady increase for years.

Both Pornhub and xHamster have released their 2017 reports that broke down trends and habits in porn viewing, and the data comes off as a bit of a surprise: women are watching more porn than men.

Pornhub notes how 28.5 billion people visited its domain last year, with the number one search on the website being "Porn for Women." That search alone rose 359% among female viewers between 2016 to 2017, while the phrase also saw an increase of 1,400 year after year. Here is an infographic showcasing the year's top searches on the website.

Next is xHamster's year-end report, whose collated date is similar to that of Pornhub's. According to an in-depth analysis presented by the website, it saw a 2.4% increase in female viewers globally throughout the last twelve months, with gains in viewership in countries such as South Africa, Saudi Arabia and Mexico, while China saw a decrease of 28%.
