"His dad was talking shit so I took him out early."

The Los Angeles Lakers snapped their nine game losing streak last night with a 132-113 over the Atlanta Hawks last night, just hours after LaVar Ball claimed head coach Luke Walton had lost control of the team.

After the game, Walton had some fun with LaVar's criticism.

During his post-game press conference, Walton was asked about his decision to sub Lonzo out of the game during the first quater. He responded, per Southern California News Group's Bill Oram, "His dad was talking shit so I took him out early." Of course, Walton was joking and after a brief pause clarified, "Just kidding."

Lonzo, who was playing in his second game since suffering a shoulder injury, finished with 13 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.

The Lakers have made an effort to prevent LaVar Ball from criticizing Walton and the Lakers organization, including the "LaVar Ball Rule," which prevents members of the media from congregating in a section of the arena among family and friends of players after games.

However, the Lakers couldn't do anything to stop LaVar's most recent remarks about Luke Walton, which he gave during an interview from Lithuania.

"Luke doesn't have control of the team no more," Lonzo's father said, per Jeff Goodman of ESPN.com. "They don't want to play for him."

"Even if you bring in a LeBron or a [Paul] George, he can't coach them guys," he said. "What is he gonna tell them? He's too young. He has no control."
