Tracy McGrady will headline the 11-person class to be inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame tomorrow night, paying tribute to his 15 seasons in the NBA including seven All-Star appearances.
The 11-member Class of 2017, including McGrady, Bill Self, Rebecca Lobo and Muffet McGraw, will be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame tomorrow (Friday, September 8th) in Springfield, Massachusetts, but the festivities have already begun.
T-Mac and co. held a press conference today ahead of their Hall of Fame enshrinement, and the NBA has just released T-Mac’s incredible career mixtape, featuring highlights from his days on the Toronto Raptors, Orlando Magic and Houston Rockets.
If you forgot how special of a player McGrady was during his prime, you definitely need to check out the highlight reel below. Even if you haven’t forgotten, McGrady’s career mixtape is still worth your time.
Tracy McGrady finished his career averaging 19.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game. He was named to the All-NBA First Team twice, three times on the All-NBA Second team, and twice on the All-NBA Third Team. Additionally, he recorded two scoring titles in 2003 and 2004 , and was named the Most Improved Player Award in 2001.
When asked earlier this year about what it meant to be enshrined in the Hall of Fame, T-Mac told reporters (via NBA.com),
“It doesn’t get any better than this,” McGrady said. “You’re talking about going into a class of greatness. Legendary. This is forever. It doesn’t matter how many playoff games you lost. What you didn’t accomplish. None of that matters. It’s what I did do. What I did accomplish over my career. To be honored with this prestigious award is phenomenal.”
McGrady and the rest of the 2017 NBA Hall of Fame class will officially be enshrined tomorrow night – the event will air on NBATV starting at 7:30pm ET.https://twitter.com/_/status/905868280585433094
