Tyrese Gibson recently spoke out about his 2020 divorce. He claims that during the trial, he came to the realization that his now ex-wife, Samantha Lee, was only with him for the money and status that he brought. Tyrese said, "I left the courtroom during a divorce trial, and I realized it was never love." He says that instead, "it was just a transaction.” He went on to add, “Wow, we did whole marriage and the…child just…to find out it was all about money and status.”
It wasn't the first time he made claims about his former relationship. In February of this year, Tyrese also shared a message on Instagram to his ex-wife. He wrote, “Samantha I don’t think you ever loved me… impossible.” He also previous shared his feelings surrounding the verdict of their custody battle. Tyrese was ordered to pay $10k per month in child support. He wrote on Instagram, “Samantha really thought she pulled it off," adding, “God don’t like ugly.” In the video he shared more about his mental state, claiming that he was “confused” and “in and out of depressions."

Tyrese Thinks His Ex Never Loved Him
Upon revealing their plans to divorce, Tyrese initially told his ex-wife, “I am a better man of God, friend, and father because of you." He also added, "I pray we leave the door open because the God that we serve is a mountains mover and can make a way out of no way.”
Tyrese's current girlfriend, Zelie Timothy, shared in March that she was more interested in her boyfriend's costar, Paul Walker, ahead of making things official with Tyrese. Tyrese wasn't too happy about her admission, telling her, “Don’t touch me.” It wasn't the only time the couple publicly feuded. In 2022, he also bashed the Instagram model following her reportedly sharing "choice words" about him online. He called her a "masterful manipulator" and "a snake," claiming that he was newly-single. She later responded, “After all this, you’ve made me know that hell is just earth without you… I want you to know how much I miss you and what you mean to me.”
