AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am - Round Three

Aaron Rodgers made some massive revelations today as a guest on the Pat McAfee Show. Overall, the entire NFL world was waiting to see what he would do. There had been rumblings that he would join the New York Jets, however, nothing had been confirmed. For many, his silence on the matter was frustrating, especially since he does this almost every year. That said, Rodgers finally broke his silence today by stating that he had every intention of playing for the Jets. Now, he is just waiting for the Jets and Packers to make the trade official.

Throughout the week, there have been some reports about Rodgers directing the Jets to sign certain free agents. For instance, the team recently went out and signed Allen Lazard. Although, Rodgers is vehemently denying these reports. In fact, the Jets quarterback told Pat McAfee that he has no time for insiders like Adam Schefter. He even revealed that Schefter tried to text him. However, this led to Rodgers saying "lose my number." In the tweets below, you can see that Schefter confirmed as much.

Aaron Rodgers Offers The Cold Shoulder

Obviously, this is a huge loss for Schefter, who really thought he had some leads here. That said, this is pretty well in line with how Rodgers has conducted himself over the past few years. He does not want anyone speaking on his behalf, especially not insiders who work for ESPN. Subsequently, there have been some memes in regard to the situation, while some are already making t-shirts to commemorate the texts. Schefter is someone that fans have been in poor favor with over the years, and this was a way for some to dunk on him.

As for Rodgers, he just made Jets fans around the country extremely happy. This is the most joyous day in the franchise's history since they won the Super Bowl over 50 years ago. That said, Rodgers still has a lot of work to do. He is getting older, and this season will be difficult as he tries to make it work with a new team. Let us know what you think of his decision, in the comments down below.
