Syd drops the first single off of "Always Never Home."

Syd has found herself in a more solidified place in the music industry since she first came in the scene with Odd Future. While earlier in her career, she was spotted DJing for members of Odd Future, she eventually moved onto to forming her group The Internet which ultimately paved the way for her solo career. Earlier this year, she released her debut album Fin via Columbia Records and while people have been pressing for new music, today she delivers a new song "Bad Dream/No Looking Back" as the lead single of her upcoming project Always Never Home.

Syd's "Bad Dream/No Looking Back" is a sultry R&B single that embodies Syd at some of her best. She attaches two songs into one that essentially is a stepping stone into the universe of Syd. The production for "Bad Dream" was done by Gwen Bunn and "No Looking Back" handled by Ricci Riera who has worked with Drake, Kendrick Lamar and Travis $cott on some of their most recent efforts. "Bad Dream/No Looking Back" is some fine mood music for late nights. Syd has really mastered the ability of making an impact with minimalism. Gwen Bunn and Ricci Riera's production on the song really create an atmosphere that Syd draws you into with her soft voice.

Syd has paved her own lane within this Los Angeles wave of R&B coming out. Earlier this year, her album Fin was met with critical acclaim across the board. While there hasn't been an album coming from The Internet since 2015, it's safe to say that Syd has been steadily working on her solo career. With two projects coming out in the span of one year, it's hard to say that she won't be making waves any time soon.

With the release of "Bad Dream/No Looking Back," Syd took to Twitter to announce that her upcoming project Always Never Home will be releasing on September 8th.

Quotable Lyrics
I could break you off and hold it down
Give you all the things your bodies asking for
You could get me off, you put it down
