Yesterday marked the one-year anniversary of the release of The Social Experiment's Surf. To celebrate, the group shared a 10-minute collection of unused pieces from the album called "The First Time." "An ode to the era," Donnie Trumpet called it.
"The First Time" is produced by Donnie Trumpet and Nate Fox and stars SoX associates Chance The Rapper, Ady Suleiman, J.P. Floyd, Dustin Green, & Cam Obi. There is no motif or hook that unites the various sketches, but they all possess the same unrushed, nostalgic quality. All-around, it makes for a soothing listen. Good breakfast-cooking music.
