Terrace Martin shows off his prodigious production intellect on "Valdez Off Crenshaw."

Savvy viewers caught Terrace Martin ripping it up on his saxophone from a jail cell during Kendrick Lamar's mind-blowing Grammy performance last night. Martin, of course, was one of the central architects of Kendrick's To Pimp a Butterfly. He's got some excellent solo projects -- 3ChordFold Pulse was one of the low-key hottest albums of 2014 -- and he's gearing up for a new album by the name of Velvet Portraits. Martin stopped by Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show to premiere his new single "Valdez Off Crenshaw."

"Valdez Off Crenshaw" harkens back to the good ol' Isaac Hayes days. GAHDAMN this shit is smooth. Kendrick needs to spit a verse on this ASAP.
