Tim Westwood released a rare freestyle from Mos Def recorded in 1999.

Tim Westwood probably has a lot of rare or unreleased freestyles in his vault, and every now and then, he decides to share one with the world. Today, for Throwback Thursday, the UK radio legend comes through with a Mos Def freestyle from back in 1999, which Westwood says is entirely off the dome.

To provide some context as to what was going on with Yasiin/Mos at the time, he had released his debut album Black on Both Sides that year, and a year earlier, he dropped the Black Star album Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star-- so basically, he was in his prime.

Take a listen to the unearthed freestyle.
