Sometime between 2001 and 2003, J Dilla submitted an album called The Middle Finger to MCA Records. MCA put the project on the backburner before it shut down operations in 2003. The Middle Finger files were lost and could not be tracked down -- until now.
The recently located CD-R has been damaged and only two tracks could by fully recovered. One of the tracks is a Kanye mix of "The Anthem," a track that appeared on The Diary. The other is an alternative vocal version of "Fuck the Police."
The Middle Finger will be released on October 5th via Rappcats. It will be a limited release of 1,000 hand-numbered 12-inch vinyl record. Quite the collector's item -- head here for more information.
