"Wanksta" was the track that put 50 Cent on the map. It initially appeared on 50's 2002 No Mercy, No Fear tape before getting shine via the 8 Mile soundtrack, ultimately peaking at #13 on the Billboard charts. NMNF was his first mixtape after signing with Eminem and Dr. Dre, essentially serving as a warm-up run for Get Rich Or Die Tryin', which dropped in February '03.
50 Cent conceived "Wanksta" as a diss towards all wannabe gangsters, among whom (in his eyes) was Ja Rule. Thus began Fiddy's long and storied tradition of clowning on other rappers and Floyd Mayweather.
