"This is unacceptable."

Kate Upton was one of many Americans who took exception with the handful of NFL players that decided to kneel during the National Anthem prior to yesterday's full slate of games.

In response to a tweet sent out by SportsCenter, which showed multiple Miami Dolphins players including Arian Foster kneeling for the Anthem, Upton wrote, "This is unacceptable. You should be proud to be an American. Especially on 9/11 when we should support each other." She added, "Protest&speak ur mind whenever u want but during the 120secs you should support the people who protect our freedom."

Upton hasn't back down from her stance on the issue, nor has Arian Foster who responded to the criticism with a few tweets of his own.

In addition to the comments she made on twitter, Upton posted a lengthy message on instagram in which she reiterated that players should always stand for our National Anthem, especially on a day like 9/11.

Other teams like the Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs showed their solidarity by standing with their arms locked during the Anthem. Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters also raised his fist in the air as a show of support for the cause.

Colin Kaepernick, who has spearheaded this form of protest, and the 49ers didn't play yesterday but they'll be kicking off their season tonight against the LA Rams.
