"It’s certainly something he’d consider."

Adrian Peterson is one of the biggest names on the free agent market but having already made more than $97 million in his 10-year career he's reportedly considering taking less money if it means he can play for a championship.

And if you want to play for a Super Bowl contender, what better team to play for than the New England Patriots?

According to the Boston Herald, sources close to AP believe he'd be willing to leave money on the table if the Pats are interested in his services.

"A source close to Peterson told the Herald that since AP has already earned a ton — more than $97 million is his career — it’s certainly something he’d consider."

"Historically, the Patriots haven’t paid running backs more than $2 million a year. If the Pats were truly interested, they might come off that number, but Peterson would have to be willing to leave a lot on the table considering likely offers elsewhere."

Although the Patriots already have Dion Lewis and James White under contract, the big fella LeGarrette Blount is set to become a free agent so there is a chance that Bill Belichick would be interested in the 32-year old Pro Bowl back.

For the rest of the league's sake, let's home AP finds work elsewhere.
