While <a href="/profile/LilWayne" class="text-word" target="_blank" >Lil Wayne</a> (and plenty of others) are likely still waiting on money owed to them by <a href="/profile/Birdman" class="text-word" target="_blank" >Birdman</a>, American Express is waiting on money owed by Wayne. The credit card company filed a lawsuit against Weezy on Thursday, in an attempt to get a large bill paid off. 
According to the legal documents, Lil Wayne has been in the red with American Express since December 2015. He reportedly owes them $86,396.75. AmEx is seeking that amount, plus payment for their legal fees. 
No word from Lil Wayne&#8217;s legal team yet, but this is pretty familiar territory for Wayne too. <a href="http://www.hotnewhiphop.com/lil-wayne-sued-for-failing-to-pay-lawyer-s300-000-news.20623.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">He was sued by his lawyer earlier this year</a> for neglecting to pay him the $300,000 he was due, and <a href="http://www.hotnewhiphop.com/lil-wayne-reportedly-hit-with-s900-000-tax-lien-news.20089.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">he owes the IRS a reported $900,000</a>.
