Ulysses "Chris" Gissendanner, who is the stepbrother of Chicago rapper Chief Keef, has died after being shot in the back of the head.

There has been a rash of violence throughout Chicago, and Chief Keef has been labelled as a sort of poster child for the teenage gang violence.  Now more tragedy has struck as Keef’s stepbrother Ulysses “Chris”Gissendanner III had died after being shot in the back of the head.

Gissendanner was on the Far South Side of Chicago visiting his uncle and was shot while in his car.  He was brought to Roseland Hospital where he later died from the bullet wound.

The 19 year old also went by the rap name YPN Boomtown, and was related to Chief Keef through marriage, with Keef’s estranged father Alonso Cozart  linking the two.  Cozart, who is not on speaking terms with his son Keef, says he does not want the rapper to overshadow his deceased step brother’s death.  Talking about Gissendanner he said, "He just graduated high school, and was in college and had a job. He was a positive person.  I’m not trying to get publicity of Chief Keef being my son. I want you to focus on Ulysses. He’s the one that’s gone.”

Chief Keef had recently avoided jail time after prosecutors felt he violated parole by moving to a more upscale area in Chicago.  He faces another hearing that could see him behind bars for other parole violations, and authorities have been closely looking into any involvement he may have had in the death of rapper Lil JoJo this past summer.

HNHH offers our thoughts and condolences for Gissendanner’s family and loved ones.
