Philadelphia rapper Ashoka graduated from Temple University last week. The time was right to release his debut EP Hard To Gain, Easy To Lose and officially commence his rap career.
The five-track project is a useful introduction into Ashoka's diverse style, from the warm, lyrically minded flavor of "For You" to the booming, bursting-with-confidence swagger of "W.W.Y.D." One might compare the project to Drake circa Take Care or Big Sean circa Dark Sky Paradise.
