On last week's edition of Top Tracks, Drake locked down the highest two spots with new leaks, and appeared once more as a guest on PartyNextDoor's "Come And See Me," which landed at number eight. If you thought that was impressive, wait til you see this week's. The 6 God controls half of this week's list, despite the fact that all versions that appear on here are unofficial leaks. With the help of both huge stars (Jay Z, Kanye West, and a posthumous Pimp C verse) and smaller international favorites (Wizkid and Popcaan), Drizzy is well on his way to dominating the conversation this month, even before we've heard a single official cut from Views From The 6.
Elsewhere, Schoolboy Q and Meek Mill make much anticipated returns to the game with new singles, Tory Lanez and A$AP Ferg team up for a big collab, and TLOP keeps delivering with bonus cuts and updated versions. Read on to see the full breakdown.
10. Young Thug Feat. Lil Uzi Vert - Dope
Although it's never appeared on the top half of a top tracks list, Young Thug and Lil Uzi's collab "Dope" has now held on for three straight weeks, the only song of this week's batch to do so. With room for another entire verse, it still sounds unfinished, and since it's now been taken down from YouTube and Soundcloud, we expect this to surface in an even better final form later this year. Falling from number 9 last week, "Dope" holds onto this week's bottom spot.
9. Tory Lanez & A$AP Ferg - Line Up The Flex (Prod. by Play Picasso)
Tory Lanez and A$AP Ferg are about to depart on their "Level Up" tour in support of Ferg's upcoming Always Strive And Prosper album, and to celebrate, they paired up for an explosive collab produced by one of Lanez's go-to guys, Play Picasso. Atop strings and haunting vocal samples, these two wildly different vocalists give us a pretty good taste of what to expect from their joint shows. "Line Up The Flex" makes its debut at number 9, and will likely continue an upwards climb this week.
8. Drake - These Days
Want a good illustration of how powerful Drake's name is? This unfinished version of his collab with Babeo Baggins currently sits at 725,000 views, whereas the final version (crucially credited to Babeo FEAT. Drake) only has 99k, despite the fact that this leak has been unavailable to stream for at least a week. People will click on literally anything that features this guy as a lead artist-- if he covered Barney's "I Love You, You Love Me," it would still probably hit the top ten. "These Days" falls from number 2 to 8 to make room for yet more Drake tracks.
7. Kanye West Feat. Sampha - Saint Pablo
When compared with the more subtle track updates and perhaps superfluous other additions to TLOP, "Saint Pablo" has become something of a fan favorite in the past few weeks. What with Sampha's excellent vocals and an instantly recognizable sample, this one feels like it could've should've been included on the original album. It drops from 4 to 7 this week.
6. Schoolboy Q - Groovy Tony
It's now been over two years since Oxymoron dropped, and so naturally, Schoolboy Q fans were ravenous for new material. "Groovy Tony" is the first taste we've gotten from his upcoming studio album, and it's got us even more excited than we thought was possible. This grimy banger makes its debut at number 6.
5. Drake Feat. Popcaan - Controlla
Fans of OVO Unruly's Jamaican delegate, Popcaan, have been waiting on a Drake collab that amounts to more than a few entertaining skits on If You're Reading This It's Too Late, and last week, we got one. "Controlla" is definitely the breeziest of Drizzy's new leaks, and if it is indeed included on his new album, we could easily see it taking off as a single. It was number one last week, but due perhaps to the original version being removed from the web, it's fallen to number 5 this week.
4. Meek Mill - Trap Vibes
Just when you thought the dust had finally settled, and we'd never have to hear the names "Drake" and "Meek" in the same sentence ever again, this dueling duo decided to drop new material on the same day. Unlike Drake's leaks though, Meek's "Trap Vibes" is an official cut, albeit technically a freestyle over a previous track by... you guessed it, Drake. We'll see how this one shakes out. "Trap Vibes" debuts at number 4.
3. Drake Feat. Pimp C - Faithful
Bun B was one of Drake's biggest supporters early on, helping the young Canadian foster his Houston appreciation and even blessing his Take Care cut "Underground Kings." Although his vocals don't appear on "Faithful," we'd have to assume that he was instrumental in securing a verse from his deceased partner-in-crime, Pimp C. "Faithful" should appease fans of Drake's more rappity-rap work, especially if it gets updated for VFT6. It debuts at 3.
2. Drake Feat. Wizkid & Kyla - One Dance
Most of us were introduced to Wizkid when Drake remixed his track "Ojuelegba" last summer for an OVO Sound cut. This week, they linked up once more for a remix of a 2008 track by Kyla called "Do You Mind." This showcases Drizzy's worldliest impulses, and again proves his versatility. "One Dance" garnered over 500,000 views in its first week, good for a number 2 debut.
1. Drake Feat. Jay Z & Kanye West - Pop Style
Capping off this latest strings of currently-unavailable Drake leaks is "Pop Style," a collab with one of rap's biggest duos, The Throne. Even despite the fact that Jigga's verse is just a few bars long, this one absolutely took off as soon as it hit the site, and will easily eclipse a million views by next week's time. We'll have to see if more Hova bars get added come album time.
