Nebraska emcee Scru Face Jean releases his new "Righteous & Ratchet" EP, featuring contributions from Doe Doe, Skate, and Chad Stubbs.

Scru Face Jean made an impressive statement last October with his Another Night mixtape. He’s since been touring like a madman and gaining legions of new fans while putting on for his hometown of Lincoln, Nebraska. After sharing “On Demand,” a new single and accompanying video featuring fellow Nebraskan Skate Maloley, Scru is back with a new 9-track EP entitled Righteous & Ratchet

Aside from Skate, there are no features on Righteous & Ratchet. Once again, the executive producer of the project is Doe Doe, and additional production comes from North Carolina Scru Society affiliate Chad Stubbs.

The title of the EP is inspired by a quote from Charlamagne Tha God. “Righteous” refers to the lyrics and “Ratchet” to the energy with which he drives those lyrics home. The lines sometimes blur along the way, but the end product is an exciting example of what can happen when two oft-warring mentalities join forces in the name of hip-hop.

Scru has already announced a tour in support of Righteous & Ratchet. Check out dates here.
