LeBron James picked up a special award for his work with the I Promise school.

LeBron James is one of the most popular athletes in the entire world, even though he can be polarizing at times. LeBron is also known for his philanthropic work, particularly with the I Promise school in Akron, Ohio. James is trying to give kids in his hometown an opportunity to get a great education so that they can be successful as they develop and grow into adults. These efforts have been celebrated by numerous fans, and now, he is receiving a Kids' Choice Award for his efforts.

Last night, James was a recipient of the Generation Change Award and also got recognized as the Fav Male Athlete. LeBron reacted to these awards by taking to Twitter, where he reiterated his commitment to bring better education to America's youth.

"Once again thank you guys so much for this! This awards is headed to Akron inside the @IPROMISESchool. Dedicated to all my kids and kids all over the world needing any inspiration at this moment and in the future," LeBron wrote.

James his fair share of haters, especially when it comes to his play out on the basketball. However, when it comes to his work outside of the sport, you can't help but love what he's doing.
