There have been tons of twists and turns in the complicated federal case involving Tekashi 6ix9ine. At the beginning of the case, his former manager, Shotti, reportedly proclaimed in court, “we don't fold, we don't bend, we don't break. It's Tr3yway," while under oath. That statement has not aged well given that 6ix9ine and Shotti were among the half a dozen defendants who took guilty pleas in the case. Earlier today, the case had its first all-defendant conference since February where it was revealed that a few more Nine Trey associates could also be copping guilty pleas.
According to Complex, the hearing at Manhattan's Thurgood Marshall Courthouse focused primarily on procedural issues as well as new evidence brought forth by the feds. Kintea "Kooda B" McKenzie was at the center of the new evidence that was introduced. Kooda B is accused of ringing off shots at Chief Keef outside of Manhattan's W Hotel last year which he was promised $20K from 6ix9ine for the act. 6ix9ine admitted to his involvement in the case.
The evidence brought forth was a water bottle that was seen in the surveillance video of the Manhattan shooting. The police found the bottle before sending it off for DNA testing. According to the government, McKenzie's DNA was "included" on the bottle. U.S. Attorney Michael Longyear said that the chances that the DNA belongs to someone else are "a trillion to one."
Longyear told the judge that they were working on more guilty pleas. "We are engaged in active plea discussions with several of the defendants," he told the judge before revealing that there are less than three defendants in talks for taking guilty pleas.
