An unreleased song from the late Mac Miller has appeared online.

UPDATE: Read 88Keys' Instagram post on the leak below.

Mac Miller passed away last year from an accidental drug overdose and when he died, our community was shaken to the core. For years, Mac Miller had been a favorite for so many with his musical evolution shining clear over his career. Starting off as a college kid rapping about parties and hook-ups, his style got more and more mature before his discography culminated with Swimming, an introspective look at his thoughts and the topic of self-care. As noted by Stereogum, it would be difficult to produce a posthumous body of work from Mac, especially considering his extensive use of samples, but the recent leak of his previously-unreleased song "Benji The Dog" gives fans hope for a full album of tracks that he was working on at the time of his death.

The new song samples David Schwimmer speaking about OJ Simpson in The People V. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story. That special aired in 2016 but people online believe that "Benji" was recorded a year prior, which would mean the sample was added afterward. The track sounds in tune with much of Mac's later catalog, diving into his struggles with addiction, his mother's problems, and more. The beat is sampled from Valerie Simpson's 1972 soul song “Benjie."

Have a listen to the song here and let us know if you would be open to hearing a posthumous album from Mac Miller.
