Now we have an explanation for the Super Bowl.

Todd Gurley was one of, if not, the best running back in the NFL this past season, although he was practically nowhere to be found in the NFC Championship game and the Super Bowl. In both of those games, he combined for 14 carries and 45 yards, which is simply unacceptable for a player of his caliber. Now if you remember, Gurley suffered an injury near the end of the season and believed he would be fine for the playoffs. Turns out that simply wasn't the case, as running back C.J. Anderson went on FS1's Undisputed and spoke about his teammate's injury.

"He was more hurt than what we thought," Anderson said. "The injury was a little bit more than what everybody in the building thought, including himself."

Anderson got more touches because of the injury, which led him to explain how he felt about being utilized just a bit more.

"When we came in, we knew both of us were going to be used," Anderson said. "Now, I don't think it was a hot-hand thing because it was more like - it was up front. I was receptive to tell like, 'If Todd wants to go he wants to go.' And I was OK with that."

The Los Angeles Rams ended up losing the Super Bowl at the hands of the New England Patriots by a score of 13-3.
