Nike Air Max 180

Nike is celebrating Berlin nightlife with this release.

Nike has been known to tell stories with their sneakers and that is exactly what is happening with this brand new Nike Air Max 180, dubbed the "Berlin." The shoe comes in some pretty flashy colors which are meant to pay homage to the rich nightlife scene that emerged in the city after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Vibrant yellows and pinks can be found on the tongue, heel, and outsole of the shoe, while the upper is made of grey mesh and leather.

"Berlin has always been a very liberal place, or even something like a fantasy land. West Berlin felt like an enclave until the wall came down, like a place with its own rules. And after the wall came down, the means of freedom in both parts of the city translated into a creative anything goes mentality. A perfect breeding ground for subcultures, with Techno being one of the most important and steady ones," said Berlin's Keinemusik collective in a press release.

According to a report from Sole Collector, these kicks will be released on Nike Air Max Day which goes down on March 26th. Unfortunately for sneakerheads in North America, the Nike Air Max 180 "Berlin" will be a European exclusive. There will also be a wider release in Europe on March 30th which will go down on the Nike SNKRS App.
