Tommie's acceptance in a mental health program can alter her sentence.

Tommie Lee is facing up to 54 years in jail for an incident that occurred in October for 2018, when Tommie attended her daughter's middle school after getting a call from a teacher that her daughter was being disrespectful. When Tommie arrived, she reportedly slapped her daughter on her hands and face before dragging her by her hair in the hall and throwing her against a locker.

The Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star has opened up about the incident more recently and new reports from TMZ now state that she's citing mental health issues as a way to alleviate the serious sentencing in her case. The publication details how Tommie is looking to get enrolled in a mental health program and is asking the court for help. She's claiming that she was diagnosed with a mental health condition before and around the case, which plays a significant role in what happened that day at her daughter's school.

Tommie is willing to oblige to the random drug tests and the other long lists of requirements to enter the program. The decision on whether her enrollment goes through, or can ease up on her sentence, will be decided in 30 days since her application is reviewed by a committee and prosecutor.
