A participant holds a games controller to play a video game at the 2018 DreamHack video gaming festival on January 27, 2018 in Leipzig, Germany. The three-day event brings together gaming enthusiasts mainly from German-speaking countries for events including eSports tournaments, cosplay contests and a LAN party with 1,500 participants.

Hours and hours of gaming.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is the most ambitious game to come from Rockstar Games, and that's saying something. The studio has brought the world several hits, including the entire Grand Theft Auto series. It's hard to believe that a game could be more in-depth that Grand Theft Auto V. Still, Rockstar Games Vice President Dan Houser told Vulture that the making of Red Dead Redemption 2 was like no other title the company has released previously.

The Vulture article was written by Harold Goldberg. Golberg was blessed with extended hours of playtime where he was able to get a small grasp of what was to come. Golberg states that the main storyline for Red Dead Redemption 2 runs at about 65-hours. In comparison, the main storyline for Grand Theft Auto V ran between 25-30 hours. Online modes and DLC will only extend the ridiculously lengthy playing time as well. Houser explains that the game gives, “this seamless, natural-feeling experience in a world that appears real, an interactive homage to the American rural experience. [It’s] a vast four-dimensional mosaic in which the fourth dimension is time, in which the world unfolds around you, dependent on what you do."

Red Dead Redemption 2 drops on October 26 for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The online multiplayer mode, Red Dead Online, is set for a November release.
