Amar'e Stoudemire and his wife of nearly six years are officially calling it quits just a year after Stoudemire's child from a secret affair was revealed to the general public.
According to new documents obtained by The Blast, Stoudemire began the petition for dissolution of marriage against wife Alexis Welch. The couple has been dating since the early aughts and got married in 2012. Together, they have four children: Ar'e, Amar'e jr., Assata and Alijah.
It was in October of 2017 that Stoudemire was confirmed as the father of Quynn Lovett's child after a long battle over paternity and child support. Lovett sued Stoudemire in April of 2017, seeking child support for her daughter Zoe Renee, born in 2016. Before settling, Stoudemire admitted to paying Lovett temporary child support without a court order.

Blast also reports that Welch has yet to file a response to Stoudemire's petition.
It's the latest in news for the retired NBA star, who joined the BIG3 league last year. He also hinted at joining the NBA once again, telling reporters that he was sure he'd be on an NBA roster in 2018.
"I’m definitely planning on (coming back). I’ve been training like you wouldn’t believe, my body feels great," he told CBS Sports. "I had an amazing year last year playing overseas and so I’m gonna definitely continue to work my way back to top shape and see if there’s a team that needs my talents.”
