Apple's iOS 12 is set to drop later tonight.

iOS 12 is Apple's latest software design release, and it is all set to launch later today. iPhone and iPad users will be introduced to tons of new features and Apple promises that the software will make older iPhone speeds increase by 70%. Apple also adds that iOS 12 was designed with speed and easier everyday use in mind.

The list of eligible iPhones includes iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 5s. Unfortunately for certain users, iPhone 5 or iPhone 5c will not be eligible. iPad generation eligibility includes the iPad 12.9‑inch iPad Pro, 10.5‑inch iPad Pro, 9.7‑inch iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad 5th generation, iPad mini 4, iPad mini 3, and iPad mini 2. If you own any of these devices, you should see an alert appear in the settings menu around 6 PM.

Improvements include updates to settings within Messages, Siri, and photos, and Apple seems to be living up to their promise of group FaceTime calls. An added feature called ScreenTime monitors how much time you are spending on your iPhone and a breakdown of the usage. An update to Do Not Disturb allows an ease into your morning with a dim screen, as well as tapping to allow messages to come through.
