New dynamics will change gameplay.

NBA 2K19 is going to be a big year for the franchise. LeBron James is on the cover, and his move to Los Angeles will familiarize half the country with the Lakers roster. Get ready to hop online and face opponents who choose the purple and gold because of James' arrival. Game Informer got their hands on 2K19 early, and new details have emerged about the gameplay.

2K18 sold well for developer 2K Sports, but microtransactions and stale gameplay caused many fans of the series to put down their controllers before the season even ended. There haven't been many improvements to on-court gameplay recently, something that 2K Sports was aware of going into this project. One of the standout new features is the Takeover System, which will surely change the dynamics of the game. The Takeover System is akin to NBA Jam's "on fire" system. Once a player builds up the Takeover meter, a new set up options will open up allowing that player to become dominant in the game. More than one player can Takeover at a time, and the entire team can also experience a cold streak.

A new stealing system has been put into play as well, which will surely make gamers who are tired of getting reach-in fouls very happy. Unique streetball moves, shot meter improvements (to correct those horrible lay-up glitches), and smarter AI have also been implemented into the new game.
