Millie Bobby Brown missed the MTV Movie & TV Awards due to a minor injury, but she was still able to film an acceptance speech for her fans. After it was announced that she won the award for Best Performance in a Show, the screens in the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica lit up with her face. "To all my fans, I really wish I could be there with you to receive this award, but sadly, I'm stuck home in Atlanta recovering from a small injury," she began. After giving the standard acceptance award speech, Brown touched on a topic much closer to her heart.
“Since I know there are many young people watching this — and even for the adults, too — they could probably use the reminder that I was taught: if you don’t have anything nice to say, just don’t say it,” Brown stated. “There should be no space in this world for bullying, and I’m not going to tolerate it, and neither should any of you.” The talented actress famously deleted her Twitter recently after cyber-bullies began posting homophobic memes. “If you need a reminder of how worthy you are and to rise above the hate, message me on Instagram,” she added.
