Thanksgiving is a holiday with several essential traditions. The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade has been an American tradition since November 27, 1924. Advertised as the biggest parade in the world, the celebration is home to the largest public acknowledgment of pop culture. Iconic cartoons such as Snoopy, Mickey Mouse, and Batman are reimagined as larger than life balloons. For decades now, Dragon Ball has been one of the most famous cartoon series in North America. The anime series first established a cult following in the 80's, which grew to an enormous fan base by the early 2000's. For the first time, Dragon Ball's ultimate hero will appear at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.

In celebration of Dragon Ball Super: Broly, Toei Animation has brought the Super Saiyan Blue Goku balloon to life. The enormous Goku balloon is 70 feet long, 56 feet tall, and 36 feet wide.  Dragon Ball Super: Broly hits theaters in Japan next month, and in the US on January 16, 2019. The film will finally tie Broly into the series' main canon. According to BusinessWire, this year's parade will feature 16 giant character balloons, 43 novelty balloons, 26 floats, 1,200 cheerleaders and dancers, over 1,000 clowns, and 12 marching bands. Macy’s 92nd Thanksgiving Day Parade kicks off at 9 AM on November 22.
