Joker mayhem.

Director Todd Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix are back to work in the New York subways. Pictures and footage of Phoenix as Batman's arch nemesis The Joker were posted online by Phillips when production started last month. Some of the first shared footage displayed Phoenix in a subway with a mob of other masked assailants. As chaos broke out in the subway, Phoenix calmly navigated through the madness. Now, new set photos and video continue to highlight the dramatic subway scene.

Footage of Phoenix wearing full Joker makeup in a bright suit walking menacingly down a subway corridor has fans across the world exited. As simple as it may look, The Joker's confident and dangerous stroll gives off the energy DC fans have been yearning from the villain. To top it off, Phoenix smokes a cigarette as police rush towards the direction he is leaving.

The still-untitled Joker film will touch down next October. DC and Warner Bros. still have a full year of promotion ahead of them, although all these leaks have resulted in high anticipation from fans. Joker also stars Zazie Beetz (as a love interest), Robert De Niro, Marc Maron, Frances Conroy, and Josh Pais.
