Another blow to San Antonio.

San Antonio Spurs starting point guard Dejounte Murray has torn the ACL in his right knee, according to multiple reports.

Murray, 22, suffered the injury in the second quarter of Sunday's preseason loss to the Houston Rockets. While driving to the basket, Murray planted his foot to elevate towards the rim when he instead crashed to the floor in pain. The Spurs' medical staff brought a wheelchair onto the court to cart Murray into the locker room, but he waved them off and walked to the back under his own power as the AT&T Center broke into applause.

"Devastating injury for him and the team, but life goes on," coach Gregg Popovich said, per ESPN. "Everybody will pick up and we will do the best job we can to carry on without him."

“He’s our starting PG, and he’s worked hard over the summer to get better, and I think it was showing,” Spurs forward LaMarcus Aldridge said after Sunday’s game, per ESPN. “You just feel for him because he’s worked so hard to be ready for this season.”

In his second year in the NBA last season, Murray took over for Tony Parker as the Spurs' starting point guard, averaging 8.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. He also became the youngest player ever to make an All-Defensive Team.

The Spurs will also be without rookie shooting guard Lonnie Walker IV for 6-8 weeks, as a result of a torn right medial meniscus.
