John Cena and Nikki Bella took the world by surprise after it was revealed the two have called-off their engagement, effectively ending their 6-year romance. While details remained relatively mum and speculative, this season of Total Bellas gives some insight into their shocking split.
During Sunday night's episode, Cena and Bella engaged in a discussion about their future plans as a couple. The WWE Diva notes how her fiancé's reluctance to have children is a fatal flaw in their relationship. "For some reason, since Birdie's been born and I've spent a lot of time with Birdie, it's just brought up these feelings of really wanting to be a mom and I thought I could really sacrifice that and I just can't," Bella admits. In response, Cena notes how "it's not choosing between having a child and having me, it's wanting to have both."
Cena continued to insist how "I'm not sure we should go through with this. Because for us to do it and then later on undo it, kinda goes against the principal of everything."
Bella, while upset about the prospect of not having children, is similarly perplexed by the thought of not being married to the love of her life. "I just can't imagine not getting married and spending the rest of our lives together," she confessed.
A teary-eyed Bella asked "so we really want to call this off? Is that the only way?" A disappointed Cena effectively responded with "yeah, and I think you know it too. I'm sorry, Nicole." Peep the clip below:
