Listen to Derez Deshon's new single "Beat The Odds" featuring YFN Lucci.

Derez DeShon has been on our radar for the past few years, but only recently has he started to see his due credit following the success of his hit single “Hardaway,” which even saw a remix from 2 Chainz & Yo Gotti. Having been relatively quiet ever since though, with exception to last month’s video for “Fed Up,” the rising ATL rapper decides return to the scene today and share a new song called “Beat The Odds” featuring YFN Lucci, who’s coming off the release of his own project this week with Lucci Vandross.

Over production from Nick Mira & Tay Taylor, Derez delivers an inspirational hustler’s anthem that finds him rapping about coming out the gutter and beating the odds in life, while Lucci follows the same sentiment but adds a little more swag in the process. “My Audemar cost me eighty large, bitch I beat the odds/ And my yard filled with foreign cars, bitch I beat the odds, yeah,” Lucci spits.

The track reportedly serves as the title track to Derez’s forthcoming mixtape, which is expected to drop next month.

Take a listen to the new collab and let us know what you think. Single available on iTunes.

Quotable Lyrics:

Uh, look at the cards
I was dealt from the start

I played 'em regardless
I gave it my all, stayed down and I came up
Never hated or changed up
Every day that I wake up, I let God know I'm thankful
'Cause I could've been dead or in prison
Free Drinkin' Juice, oh I miss him
Thoughts in my head got me trippin
I be poppin' these meds, no prescription
All I see is head how I'm livin'
All of my prayers 'bout forgiveness
My bitch send me prayers out the scripture
