When we last heard from the talented producer, he was experimenting with a softer vibe, culminating in hypnotic tracks like the beautiful "Wanted" off last year's One Of One. While the foray was appreciated by the open minded recipient, many see the name AraabMuzik and expect to see fingers flying like a scene from cult horror film Idle Hands. Remember, this man has been touted by many as the god of the MPC, with few able to match the sheer intensity of his real-time arranging prowess.
Luckily, fans clamoring for a return to roots can look no further than the simply titled Goon Loops. For all intents and purposes, the tape is gloomy in the best way, borrowing iconic sounds from his keydey, such as the Gothic-inspired "Gotham City." Should you be looking for something to creep to, give this one the time of day.
