LeBron James got to make his Philadelphia 76ers debut on Tuesday night against the defending champions, the New York Knicks. The game took place at Madison Square Garden, with the Knicks receiving their championship rings.
It was supposed to be a celebratory night for the Knicks, although they ultimately lost. There wasn't one player on the Sixers who dominated. Instead, they got solid play from Joel Embiid, Jaylen Brown, James, and Tyrese Maxey. In game one, they proved that they have a truly balanced squad.
However, in true Knicks fashion, their fans were trying to get the Sixers off their game. This was especially true of LeBron James, who ultimately went viral thanks to a back-and-forth that he had with a few fans sitting courtside.
Below, you can see the exchange in which LeBron says he is not from the West Coast. Instead, he is from the Midwest, and there is nothing soft about Ohio.
LeBron James Won't Stand For Disrespect
LeBron ended up finishing the game with a modest 14 points, although this is pretty good considering his age and how many seasons he has played. At the end of the day, LeBron's longevity is impressive, and he still came through with nine rebounds and seven assists.
The Sixers look like a team that can make a deep run this year, although teams like the Detroit Pistons and New York Knicks will have something to say about all that.
Moreover, the Indiana Pacers could also be a good team this year as Tyrese Haliburton is expected to make his return following a horrible Achilles injury.
