The Weeknd fans were victims of a little bit of Internet trickery this morning.
Multiple media outlets, including Pitchfork, picked up a "new" 12-minute remix of "Tell Your Friends," one that supposedly featured the likes of Drake, Nas, Kanye West and Ghostface Killah. I could feel the salivating going on in the hearts and minds of Starboy music lovers.
However, it proved to be one big sham. Abel himself took to Twitter to distance himself from the new remix, saying that it and the account that posted it were fake.
As for what The Weeknd is actually up to, he continues his expansive Starboy tour with stops in Detroit, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal in the coming week.
